X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) system

Technique

X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) is used to identify minerals and other phases. It characterizes materials by a non-destructive method, if they have already been reduced to powder form.

Applications

  • Identification of crystalline phases in powders
  • Information on the sample's type of crystalline structure through both qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Measurement of percentage of material in crystalline form compared to the amorphous phase
