Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)

Technique

Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) is a thermal scanning method which measures the differences between the heat flows, in relation to the temperature of the sample, in the substance and in a control while both are undergoing a controlled temperature program.

DSC is able to determine fusion T, vitreous transition T, crystallization T, fusion and crystallization Enthalpy and Degree of crystallinity.

Applications

  • Analysis of Polymers
  • Quality Control and Defect Analysis
  • Characterization of materials
