Brookfield viscometer

Technique

A viscometer is an instrument used to measure the viscosity of fluids. The Brookfield viscometer measures the force (which depends on the viscosity of the fluid) necessary to rotate a disc or a cylinder immersed in the fluid for measurement at a constant angular velocity.

Applications

  • Adhesives
  • cosmetics/pharmaceuticals
  • foods
  • paintings/coatings
  • solutions/gels
